A 20 year retail veteran, Ann Langston is the Director of the Retail, Merchandising and Product Development Center. As the director, she manages the overall operations of the Center and works to provide a point of synergy between retailing and related industries, the faculty and the students of the Retail, Merchandising and Product Development (RMPD) Department. She works closely with current Center Members as well as networking with the retail industry to recruit new members.
In addition to hosting speakers and recruiters on campus, the Center sponsors annual events focused on professionally developing the RMPD students: The Scholarship Dinner where companies provide scholarships and networking opportunities for the RMPD students, The Retail Summit encompasses an intense and informative half day conference with lectures featuring insider perspectives on the future of retailing and product development, and The Retail Focus Panel which features FSU graduates with careers in the retail industry sharing their sage advice with the students. Previously, Director Langston was the Retail Sales Manager at the Tallahassee Democrat where she supervised a selling team responsible for planning advertising for small entrepreneurial businesses. Her retail background includes District Sales Manager positions for Victoria’s Secret and US Shoe Corporation and associate buyer for a chain of department stores. She is a proud graduate of Florida State University and a lifetime Nole.
