Get to know Marie

I am interested in research that has the potential to improve people’s lives, especially giving a voice to disenfranchised populations. I am a child and woman’s health advocate engaged in participatory research activities to improve the lives of these priority populations. My education, diverse background, and experience in Public Health have prepared me to work in the areas of maternal and child health or infectious diseases. I know that I will succeed because I often think how our research can improve lives.

A Day in My Life

Life Philosophy

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
– Proverbs 3:5-6

I am Haitian-American. I am the oldest of eight children; two of my siblings still live in Haiti. I am a wife and mother of a three-year-old girl who loves playing with her toys, doing puzzles, reading books, and playing outside. We love having this sweet child who wants us to play with her after we get home from work

Words to Live By

“Nothing costs as much as caring—except not caring.”
– Bill Crowder
