Get to know Dr. Jeter

I am interested in relational processes across individual and family development, as they are nested in diverse contexts (race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, religion). More specifically, my passion is strengthening interpersonal and family relationships through encouraging self-awareness, improving communication skills, and increasing understanding of family and contextual influences. I incorporate these values to my clinical activities where I focus my work with individuals, couples, and families with relational issues. I also strive to disseminate the research, intervention and clinical activities of the Family and Child Sciences Department through university and community public speaking engagements.

All of my academic training has been interdisciplinary.

Teaching Goal-Driven Passionate and Enthusiastic Relationship-Oriented Communication Skills Supportive of Students

I am very blessed to be married to my husband, Danny, to be a mother to our sons, Noah and Caleb, and stepmother to Hannah and Gabe. Our children all have unique personalities and interests, which keeps my husband and I on our toes. As a family, we enjoy family meals, beach vacations, FSU football, and active/outdoor activities. The Jeters strive to be inspirational, loving, caring, and generous people to friends, family, and the community.

“Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.”
