Today’s interest in healthy lifestyles is translating into a remarkable range of career opportunities related to diet, fitness, and well-being. Our cutting-edge undergraduate programs prepare students to pursue a wide variety of contemporary careers.


Programs are designed to be challenging and competitive. Degree curriculums emphasize general and applied research to prepare future scholars and practitioners of chronic disease prevention. Core courses ensure that all NFES students receive a firm foundation in the essential knowledge.

Core courses include basic nutrition, general and organic chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, statistics, psychology, and family development education. The Honors in the Majors Program allows selected juniors and seniors to participate in independent studies with faculty members who are specialists in their field.
